CancerNetwork, in partnership with the Oncology Brothers, Rohit Gosain and Rahul Gosain, aims to help educate community oncologists on best treatment practices through discussion and real-world insight through their Treatment Algorithms series.
HR+ Breast Cancer Treatment Algorithm
February 13th 2025Rohit Gosain MD; Rahul Gosain, MD; and Kevin Kalinsky, MD, discuss an overview of hormone receptor–positive (HR+) breast cancer treatment, treatment of locally advanced diseases, treatment options for metastatic breast cancer, and sequencing treatment for endocrine-resistant disease.
HER2+ Breast Cancer Treatment Algorithm
January 30th 2025Panelists discuss how HER2-positive (HER2+) breast cancer treatment typically follows a targeted approach combining anti-HER2 therapy (trastuzumab [Herceptin]) with chemotherapy. Early-stage disease utilizes neoadjuvant/adjuvant therapy, whereas metastatic cases may require additional HER2-targeted agents. Treatment plans are individualized based on stage, hormone receptor status, and patient factors.
Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Treatment Algorithm
January 28th 2025Panelists discuss how triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) treatment typically follows a multimodal approach: neoadjuvant chemotherapy for tumors larger than 2 cm or node-positive disease, followed by surgery (lumpectomy or mastectomy). Postsurgery radiation therapy is recommended based on staging. For early-stage TNBC, adjuvant platinum-based chemotherapy and immunotherapy with pembrolizumab may be considered. Metastatic TNBC may receive targeted therapy (PARP inhibitors for BRCA mutations) or immunotherapy based on PD-L1 status.
Treatment Algorithm for Metastatic Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)
July 25th 2024Isabel Preeshagul, DO, MBS, joins the Oncology Brothers, Rahul Gosain, MD, and Rohit Gosain, MD, for a comprehensive discussion on the treatment of patients with metastatic non–small cell lung cancer who have no actionable mutations in the first-line setting.
Liver-Directed Therapies from a Multidisciplinary Perspective
May 9th 2024The Oncology Brothers are joined by Nina Sanford, MD; Jeffrey M. Ryckman, MD; and Harris Chengazi, MD, to discuss the treatment of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma from a multidisciplinary perspective, focusing on radiation oncology and interventional radiology.
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) Algorithm
April 29th 2024Nitin Jain, MD, joins Rohit Gosain, MD, and Rahul Gosain, MD, of Oncology Brothers to discuss treatment sequencing for chronic lymphocytic leukemia, covering both first-line and later-line therapies, while emphasizing the important role of Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitors in managing this condition.
