Sentara Healthcare, located in Hampton Roads, VA is seeking an Experience RN for a Unit Manager Position on an Oncology Unit. This full-time position is located at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, the region’s first Magnet Hospital. This level one trauma/teaching hospital is located in Norfolk, VA. The Hematology/Oncology Unit (HOU) is an 18-bed, self-contained unit providing a wide range of oncology services to a variety of diverse patient populations including the newly diagnosed through end of life, with specialties in chemotherapy and peripheral blood stem cell transplant.

Education: BSN registered nurse

Experience: Three years RN experience in an Acute Care Setting with Supervisory/Leadership experience with an Oncology/medicine focus

License: Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of VA

Skills: Knowledge of Oncology Nursing, operations, systems management and HR management experience as well as the ability to lead the staff to provide excellent customer service.

Jobs/Summary Purpose: Serves as mentor by role modeling a professional practice consistent with organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care. Responsible and accountable for daily operations of one or two assigned unit (s) on a twenty-four hour basis – seven days a week. Develops, implements, and monitor compliance to unit operating budget.
