First produced in 1990, this unique reference provides more than14,500 fax numbers, addresses, telephone numbers, and, where available,e-mail addresses of prominent oncologists, hematologists, andcancer researchers from around the world.

Now in its third edition, the Cancer Fax Directory is publishedby AlphaMed Press with support from the Hipple Cancer ResearchCenter. As the publishers write in an introductory note, the bookis "dedicated to enhancing communications among physiciansand researchers, and thereby helping to quicken the pace of cancerresearch progress worldwide."

With more than 600 pages, the spiral-bound 1995 directory is 62%larger than the book's last update, which came out in 1992. AGeographical Index of Participants organizes entries by countryand, in the United States, by state, while a Specialties Indexoffers an alternative means of finding participants.

A section of US National Cancer Institute listings has been expandedto include departments, and a section on Editorial Offices ofKey Journals and Scientific Organizations provides the names andnumbers needed to reach a selection of biomedical journal editorialoffices.

Finally, a section of Selected Granting Agencies includes notonly foundations and cancer funds but also numerous organizationsthat offer patient information and support.

With all listings presented in a clear format, the volume alsoprovides easy instructions for international fax transmissionsand updated dialing codes for all countries and major cities.
