No doubt you’ve already been struck by how different the cover of this issue of ONCOLOGY looks. We hope you like our new look! More importantly, we hope you’ll like the new features we've added.
With these new features, we hope to continue our tradition of bringing you the practice-changing developments, key issues, and important voices and perspectives that will be most helpful to your efforts to provide cancer patients with optimal care-but in more focused formats that are particularly well-suited to our every-busier modern lives. Here’s a preview:
• How an Expert Approaches It-an ongoing series in which highly regarded authorities discuss how they handle a particularly difficult tumor type, therapy modality, or treatment complication.
• A monthly Pro/Conin which we enlist two experts with opposing views to set forth the case for their position on a relevant controversy within the field of oncology.
• A more streamlined version of our long-popular Clinical Quandaries feature. In this series, case reports selected for their unique nature or educational value will be used as a jumping off point for discussion of important points in diagnosis or treatment.
A key element in ONCOLOGY’s approach has always been our reliance on the work and opinions of the most highly regarded experts in the field. We will be continuing this tradition with our new features. Every one will be written by a physician known for his or her expertise in the topic being discussed.
Just as we have preserved the key elements of the journal’s cover in our redesign, so too have we worked to enhance, rather than alter, what’s inside. The cutting-edge yet practical review articles and the thought-provoking commentaries that accompany them will remain the core of the journal and at the heart of what we do. Similarly, we will continue to bring you our insightful Practice & Policyfeatures, as well as the monthly reflections by members of our editorial board, To Put That Into Context . . .
